WDVH relies on volunteers to staff the Helpline. We provide a training file for each new volunteer, which includes information on the law, housing & benefits.

We train approximately 28 volunteers per year. Some stay a short while, others stay involved with WDVH for many years. All provide a valuable service to women who are experiencing domestic abuse.

It is important that we keep up-to-date on issues that effect women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Internet Access

We use the internet to access information on women’s aid provision within the UK. We also access up-to-date information on other agencies & legislative changes.
